A Gantt chart is a simple idea buried under expensive software. Tasks down the side, time across the top, a bar for each task showing when it runs. That is all it is.
Add your tasks and set the dates. Each new task starts the day the previous one ends, which is usually the plan, and every date stays editable underneath the chart. Weekends are shaded so a bar spanning two weeks visibly contains ten working days rather than fourteen.
When it looks right, print it. The chart lays out cleanly on paper or as a PDF with the editing controls hidden, which is generally what a client or a manager actually wants to see.

How do I make a Gantt chart for free?
Type a task name, set its start and end dates, and repeat. The timeline builds itself as you go, with a coloured bar for each task and the current day marked.
Can I print the chart or export it?
Yes. The print button lays the chart out for paper and hides the editing controls, and choosing save as PDF in the print dialog gives you a file you can send on.
Does it save my project?
It saves in your browser, so the chart is still there when you come back on the same device. Nothing is uploaded and there is no account to make.
Does it handle weekends and working days?
Weekends are shaded on the timeline so the working length of each bar is visible at a glance. For an exact count of working days between two dates, use the business days calculator.
