12 hour to military time
Midnight is written 0000 and read “zero hundred”. Some services write the end of the day as 2400 — same instant, different day.
Hour by hour
Reading shift times off a roster is the easy half.
The hard half is what actually got done between them. PomoTodo tracks the work inside the shift and totals it by task, so the hours you report are recorded rather than remembered.
Free plan tracks unlimited focus time across unlimited tasks. No card required.
The morning is not the problem. 0800 is eight, 1100 is eleven, and anyone can do that in their head. Then the roster says 1900 and there is a pause while you work out whether subtracting twelve gives seven in the evening or something has gone wrong.
It is seven. The rule is simply minus twelve after noon, but nobody wants to do arithmetic on a shift they are already late for, and the two ends of the day - 0000 and 2400 - are genuinely ambiguous rather than just confusing.
Type either format above and get the other. The chart below covers the whole day at half hour steps if you would rather just look it up.

Questions
How do I convert military time to standard time?
For anything from 1300 onwards, subtract 12 from the hours and add PM 1730 becomes 5:30 PM. Times from 0100 to 1159 are already the same, just drop the leading zero and add AM.
What is 1400 in regular time?
2:00 PM. The pattern holds all afternoon: 1500 is 3 PM, 1800 is 6 PM, and 2300 is 11 PM.
Is midnight 0000 or 2400?
Both are used and they are the same instant. 0000 is the start of a day and 2400 is the end of the previous one, so a shift finishing at midnight is often written 2400 while one starting then is written 0000.
How is military time spoken out loud?
As four digits, not as hours and minutes: 1430 is 'fourteen thirty' and 0600 is 'zero six hundred'. Times on the hour take 'hundred', and minutes under ten take 'oh' - 0905 is 'zero nine oh five'.
